what is human rights ?

To have human rights, means to be entitled to do whatever he wants to do and to say whatever he wants to say, as long as this does not intervene others to execute their human rights. Every law should be made in accordance with this statement. Otherwise, the law is bad and has no legal status. A state exists only to make sure that every one enjoys his rights.

Science and humanity

The core pillar of my life is science, which lends me the largest happiness, joys and peace of mind. Obsession with scientific problems help me passing by all the earthly noises and exalt me to the sense of heavenly eternity, where an overwhelming inner security occupies me.

Care for humans, on the other hand, pulls me down to earth. I feel responsible to do something for others, in return for what I receive from others by way of the so-called abstract 'society'. I clearly know that, this kind of thing can not be eternal, just as humans wont be immortal. And I dont want to be taken up by such things. Because I dont belong to this world.

My spirit is on the heaven. My body is however on earth. I have to poise in-between.

Every one has his own interests

A dog wants nothing but bones, like a man wants gold.

Bones for dogs are as gold for men.

No universal 'good' exists at all.

So, there is no objective meanings in chasing 'good'. A ratioanl man does not pursue 'good'.

What we conventionally refer to as 'good' actually are 'common interests'.

In this sense, there are two kinds of 'good': individual 'good' and social 'good'.

The former varies from one to another. The latter, as it is defined, are common.

One pursues not 'good' but only his own interests, unless his own interests overlap with others'.

Whatever I do manifest my own interests. Because, what I do is what i want to do, What I speak is what i want to speak.

Education as I dream of it

Nearly every country, both its government and people, places education at a high position in its social development. Of course there have many reasons to do this. Among these reasons, one always finds ‘survival considerations’, which could be no better put as’ knowledge is power’. Education acts as merely a training that makes one stronger, just as sports make one stronger. It aims at producing competent elites who are supposed to meet increasingly complex and difficult reality. A man who goes to school has in his mind what he hopes to achieve to survive. He learns new skills to win over his opponents. He feels he’ll fall behind without education, as if every one were trying to overcome and expel him. For these minds, education is the same as many other weapons that give them more chances to beat his competitors. Official schools and colleges are established to fulfill this end. Education in this form is relentless and smells dynamite, apt to spoil humanity.

Here I want to talk about a completely different form of education. Let us go back to thousands of years ago, when Plato set up his academy. Please note that, Plato has no specific intention when he founded his academy. As a matter of fact, this academy originated from informal gathering of Plato’s friends. These people assembled, conversing on what interest them and particularly, discussing Plato’s philosophy. No curriculum had been designated to any purpose. Although it was not open to the public, there had been no fees charged against its members. What drove them together? I could hardly imagine motivations other than this simple one: to enjoy metaphysical activities. Their love of knowledge and their passion of debating glued them together. When they met, they must be meeting in sacred atmosphere. When they had to leave, they must be thinking about next meeting. What is fascinating of this mode of education is that, there is no teachers and students, there is nothing separating one from another. The only judge is truth, and the only charm is personality. In this education, everyone participates as a complete individual. He shares thoughts with others and he gets exalted in spirit. No one has the right to assess another. All are equal and free. They are really free, because they even don't feel environmental oppression. They don't feel cruel competition.

In modern times, we urgently need such education. Needless to say, public schools and colleges are not adequate any more. Obtaining education does not equal attending lectures. Education does not simply mean acquisition of knowledge and skills. Education should become more of a source of spiritual joys, joys through sympathetic dialogues. No sharp distinction between instructors and receivers shall exist. Everyone shall benifit from and contribute to others in ideal education. Every individual should be allowed to open his own schools. When conceiving this education, one should not confine himself to old visions, in which education takes place only in designated places and at designated times. We should go beyond this and make education available everywhere and whenever you are desiring ! Further, education can vary in contents vastly. There should be no must-courses any more. No single assessment system shall make complete sense. Education shall not be solely provided by governments or millionares. All citizens shall take part in.

How do you view science ?

Reductionism has been popular throughout the history of mankind, from ancient Greek philosophers to modern thinkers. It is no wonder that, at the dawn of last century, people hastily asserted that, physics were going over, because all the fundamental laws had been found. This assertion was soon overthrown, due to the discovery of relativity theory and quantum mechanics。 Three decades afterward, Dirac claimed again that, all chemistry could be captured in a single equation (Dirac equation). Nonetheless, as emphasized by Anderson, that reductionism is too naive and too optimistic for the human's intelligence. The real world is so complicated that, its actual behaviors can hardly be comprehended directly through pure deduction starting from some fundamental laws. Such pure deduction is too difficult for us humans. Thence, Anderson put forth the co-called 'emergent phenomena', which are deemed as elementary as particle physics.

To be honest, one should realize that, however extensive investigations have been conducted, only a very small portion of universe has been actually studied. Our knowledge thus obtained are therefore, in its most direct sense, only about this small portion. Applying our knowledge to any other objects is only a trial, although we hold the belief that, physical laws should be universal. But remember that, it is no more than a belief. In this perspective, our knowledge, however strong our faith in its universality may be, can serve no more than a reference. They are references, rather than answers.

Pushing this argument to its uttermost, I'd like to state that, "Any piece of universe should be deemed a prior having its own separate science, although different pieces may actually share something." A molecule, a junction, an ion, the universe as a whole, all may have their own physics. Look at a molecule. Some people may say that 'quantum mechanics are underlying its properties', but how do you infer its properties from quantum mechanics ? Before this question is answered, that saying will be merely a guess. Remember that, quantum mechanics may provide a good starting point for you to understand the molecule's properties, it is not the answer. It is a reference, not an answer. Quantum mechanics, as other empirical facts, may give you a clue to find out the answer, themselves being not answers.

So, any object may have its own physics.

The task of scientists

The supreme task of a scientist is to draw a logically self-consistent and simple picture about the world as he sees it. Every one has a picture about the world. But these pictures are not satisfactory in this or that aspect. A scientist has to be very sensitive to the loopholes of existing pictures. He must be inquiring all the time. He must insist that, nothing can be taken for granted. He must not stop questioning. He has to fully utilize his imagination and his sympathetic understanding of his experience (including both experimental data and physical laws, in addition to other things), so as to found a good picture about the object he is investigating. He should never accept or abandon anything without thinking. Reasoning and freedom are foremost to him.

We are born equal

We all humans are born equal ! This is an self-evident truth. There is no objective ways to distinguish between you and me. The distinctions are eventually drawn upon violence and then Jungle Law, which is an insulation to the spirit of humans. No one can disregard others without disregarding himself. Because he is a human, exactly as others are humans. Humanity goes through every single individual without prejudice.

In this regard, Jesus and Mose and Gandhi should be always remembered for their realizing the ubiquitous humanity. An ideal society is one in which every one feel equal to others, no discrimination of any sort in presence.

God blesses us!

God and Humans

When one looks at himself in a mirror, he sees nothing but himself. His status becomes exaggerated for this optical delusions. Let's look at him from sky, and he looks as small as an ant! Let's look at him against the whole universe, and he looks like no more than an insignificant molecule. Humans, in this respect, are no more than a form of matter, just like other things such as stones and bacteria. What take place about humans, however seminal to humans, have not even the imaginably tiniest impact on the laws of universe !

Humans are just an insignificant bit of cosmos, whose broadness is beyond man's best visions. Whatever a man does, there's nothing special in the eyes of GOD. Human affairs, be it how spectacular in the eyes of humans themselves, are void and empty with respect to universe laws.

Disgracing others equals disgracing himself

It is a misfortune that, nowadays 'Jungle law' becomes natural in our society. We are all humans. We are all endowed with some rights, the right to happiness. So, one's disgracing others equals disgracing himself. That anyone is stripped of such rights is an indignity to others. This simple and conspicuous truth seems ignored by most people in the name of economics.

What cant I lose ?

I cant lose passions about life, and science. Otherwise, I would be as good as dead.

critics make wonderful life

Why are most people hostile to criticism from others, despite that they never stop criticizing others? Stupid animals.

Politics and Science

I read news. I feel agitated by those average minds. They are so stupid, saying confusing words.
Politics are always disappointing. Humans as a whole are foolish. Most are foolish, few are extraordinary.

Go to Science, where there is plenty of serenity, where you find truth and beauty.

Go to the girl who loves you and you love, where there is comforts.

Go to God, the Lord of everything.
